No, those eyes aren’t photoshopped – Olive has sectoral heterchromia, meaning the iris of a single eye contains two colors. We think that makes her pawsitively mewnique.
KATNISS: Olive, when I furst saw a photo of you, I couldn’t believe you were furreal.
OLIVE: I hear that a lot. But I like it when people stare. I liked being diffurent.
KATNISS: There seem to be more white cats with odd eyes than any other kind of cat.
OLIVE: That’s true – fur some reason, the gene that is responsible fur white fur also controls eye color.
KATNISS: I know it’s also not uncommon fur white cats with blue eyes to be deaf.
OLIVE: Yes. Furtunately, both my vision and hearing are supurrior.
KATNISS: But you know what really makes you odd? The fact that you don’t like cat treats!
OLIVE: I don’t! But I do love boxes, bird-watching (while making “ek ek ek” sounds), and attacking feather toys.
