My Interview with JADE, Star of Hasbro's New LITTLEST PET SHOP Series

As one of the breakout stars of Hasbro’s new series, Littlest Pet Shop: A World of Our Own, Jade has cattitude to spare.

MEET JADE KATKIN.

KATNISS: Jade, concatulations on the show. Wait – how come you don’t look excited?

JADE: Um, this is me being excited.

KATNISS: In the show, you’re roommates with a dog. Meow’s that going?

JADE: Well, at furst you could’ve talked meowt of it, but I’ve come to see that Roxie’s pretty cool for a dog.

KATNISS: Now I understand you have different purrsonalities…

JADE: Yes. She’s a peppy, perky puppy who’s always eager to please. While I’m… a cat.

KATNISS: I’m guessing the difference in your species means it’s impawsible to always understand each other.

JADE: Fur sure. Like Roxie doesn’t get that when a cat pushes a gift off the counter and it breaks, it’s not because we don’t like it.

KATNISS: Of course not, it’s just something we cats do.

JADE: I know, right?

KATNISS: There are Littlest Pet Shop toys made to look just like you. How does that make you feel?

JADE: It makes me feel like lining them all up and pushing them off the counter.

KATNISS: Fun!

KATNISS: Tell me about the series and the other characters.

JADE: In the show, pets are transported to the Littlest Pet Shop in Paw-Tucket through a meowgical portal between the human and pet world. My furiends there include (pictured), Savannah who is a famous purrformer; Bev the always pawsitive turtle; Edie the dramatic parakeet; Trip the “thinks-he’s-tough” hamster; my roomie Roxie, and Quincy the goat who is prone to fainting every time something scares him.

KATNISS: I bet you enjoy jumping out and startling him.

JADE: Paw-lease, I just have to flash a claw and he passes out. I’m just kitten, Quincy’s not so bad.

KATNISS: So how do you like hanging out with the other pets?

JADE: Once I crawl out of my cat bed and get moving, I guess I have a decent time. It’s not as good as napping – of course – but we have fun adventures that are amewsing.
