These two rescues have congenital dwarfism. And although they may be tiny, they’re big on lovin’.

KATNISS: Boddhi, you weigh only 3.5 lbs and Nien, you’re about 5 lbs. I weigh more than the two of you together! Tell me about your “compact cuteness.”

BODDHI: When we were furst rescued and brought to Pet Helpers, it became appurrent that we weren’t growing or reaching the same milestones as the others in our litter and the vets thought it was a case of “failure to thrive.” 

NIEN: But then they noticed our short legs and long torsos – features that are repurrsentative of dwarfism. 

KATNISS: I think you look like Munchkin cats, which are of course a kind of dwarf cat.

BODDHI: Fur sure. 

KATNISS: So you were taken in by two volunteers at Pet Helpers who were able to care for you and tend to your physical purroblems like megacolon.

BODDHI: Yes, these foster pawrents were so pawsitive and patient that we decided to adopt them. Which has turned out purrfect except fur the fact that they still insist on fostering other kittens and cats when we two should be more than enough.

NIEN: Boddhi has some cattitude when new fosters come onto our turf. But eventually he comes around and even plays with them a bit. 

KATNISS: That’s very magnanimeows of you, Boddhi. By the way, what kind of names are Boddhi and Nien?

NIEN: Well, because of my white mustache, my purrents named me after Nien Nuub from Star Wars. Though I’m a waaaay cuter little alien.

BODDHI: My name, Boddhi, is short for Boddhisattva because I am an enlightened being. And because I’m very chill.

KATNISS: You may be chill, but I also hear you’re quite playful. What are your favorite toys?

BODDHI/NIEN: Each other.

KATNISS: You’re not just siblings, you’re good furiends. 

NIEN: Yes, we love to snuggle each other and purr.

KATNISS: But you’re meowr than just cute snuggle buddies – together you advo-cat for rescue, fostering and adoption. 

BODDHI: Yes, that’s our platfurm, our purrinciple. We want all cats – including those who are diffurent or disadvantaged – to be seen as worthy of furever homes.

NIEN: And treats. Lots of treats. 

KATNISS: Now that’s a platfurm I can get behind.
