MEET HOSICO CAT, the Round-Headed Kitty of Your Dreams

Hosico is a gold Scottish cat who lives in Moscow, Russia. Some people think he looks like a big hamster.

KATNISS: Hosico means “Star Child” in Japanese. Are you aware that Paul Stanley from the band KISS is known as The Star Child? Are you a fan of KISS?

HOSICO: No. I am a cat, so the sound of a can of cat food being opened is music to my ears. LOL.

KATNISS: I’ve been told my head is too small for my body. But you have a big, round head and a big, round body. Your fans absolutely love this. Maru also has a big, round head. In fact the name “Maru” means “round.” Is round-headedness a Scottish cat trait?

HOSICO: Yes, if we Scottish cats are fluffy and well fed, we become very round and big.

KATNISS: I think Humans envy us cats in that way – the more we eat, the cuter we are.

HOSICO: I have been told I have a chubby face, and this is said as a compliment.

KATNISS: I love your Kooee Papercraft likeness. Do you have a lot of them around the house?

HOSICO: My Human has made 9 paper Hosicos for display. I think she can’t get enough of me.

KATNISS: Lately, I’ve been seeing your videos all over the Internet. How do like being a celebricat?

HOSICO: I am very surprised that I have so many admirers, it seems to me that I am just an ordinary cat. I receive lots of fan mail and answer every single letter.

KATNISS: According to your website, your favorite “toys” are a shoelace, a tree branch, a paper sheet and a tennis ball. I love to play with hair ties and the plastic rings that come on the milk jugs. Maybe we could play together sometime?
