Not every cat, like me, is furtunate enough to have a selection of cozy cat beds and boxes to curl up in. In fact, many cats don’t have any beds – or homes – at all. Last week, FixNation held their annual fundraiser, Architects for Animals Giving Shelter, where top Los Angeles architects and designers donated innovative and inspurrational outdoor dwellings for homeless cats.
“Kitty Cathedral.” Because all cats should be worshipped.
“Ball of Twine.” Sleep in it? Bat it around? So many choices!
Abstract Cat Shelter. Like us cats, this is truly a work of art.
“The Catosphere.” Because everyone knows felines are from Meowter Space.
“UnFURled.” This creative design is built of interchangeable parts so we cats will never be bored!
“Cats Win! Cats Win!” “Having a place to call home, a sense of belonging and the feeling of victory over homelessness became the driving force for our shelter.” – Kollin Altomare Architects. Sounds like a definite win to me.
“Meow Miaow.” This origami-inspired shelter will bring good fur-tune for all who enter!
“Totally Tubular!” Furreal – who wouldn’t want to climb through these tunnels and passageways?!
“Flora-Gato.” A rolling stone gathers no moss, but this outdoor shelter sure has! Be sure to check out their “making of” video.
“CAnT WE ALL GET ALONG.” Ooh, a kitty hideaway complete with built-in snack bars! (Kidding.)
7-Chambered Kitty Shelter. So many cozy, fuzzy hiding places! I litter-ally want to climb in right meow!
Modern Wood Structure. I look at these wooden surfaces and want to scratch them – “just beclaws.”
“White Jack.” This interactive art is sure to be a game-changer.
But wait, there’s more!
Feline-loving celebs like Charlize Theron, Jackson Galaxy, William Shatner and Kristen Bell have donated hand-decorated cat bowls—all of which are available for purchase via an online auction until 9 pm PST on Oct. 31. Bid now!
I was so happy to attend this event and suppurrt FixNation, which offers free spaying and neutering of homeless cats and sets up TNR (trap-neuter-return) programs. These Humans make a pawsitive difference to the lives of so many cats! Their Co-Founder and Executive Director, Karn Myers, is Su-Purr Woman!
